Kids Crafts Saturday
























Join us in the ground floor of the Library to create fun & funky picture frames on Saturday. We'll get together 10:00am-noon to make frames with paper, beads, wire and stickers--WOW! What is Blackwater Theology?


Join us on Friday March 28th at 2:00pm in the Library Lecture Room (main floor) for a presentation by Humanities professor, Dustin Byrd. Blackwater is America's largest private military firm, employing hundred of private soldiers in the Middle East and beyond. Behind this corporation is its owner and founder, Eric Prince. Professor Byrd will attempt to shed lights on how Eric Prince's religious and theological views contribute to the actions of Blackwater in Iraq, in addition to his political actions in the United States. You will be fascinated by these insights and ideas!

Book Group Discusses "People of the Book"


Meet in the Library Lecture Room (main floor) on Monday, March 17th at 3:00pm to discuss the novel, People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. In cooperation with the Betsy Dole Women's Resource Center, we will delve into Brooks' latest novel. Brooks takes selected historical facts about the Sarajevo Haggadah and transforms them into a story imbued with mystery and atmosphere. Join us for a lively conservation--all are welcome! Service Day at Olivet College







Burrage Library is sponsoring a MATS FOR CATS effort to benefit the Capital Area Humane Society in Lansing, Michigan. Create knitted, crocheted or sewn cat mats (20x28") to donate to needy cats. Join us in the main lobby of the Library, 10:30am-3:00pm on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. We will supply donated materials to make cat mats and each participant receives a certificate of appreciation. NOTE: We had 34 participants and created 38 mats. All materials and supplies were donated by a few staff members. Thanks Everyone!!!

Easter Egg Hunt at Burrage Library





Hey Kids! Meet in the Library Lobby (main floor) at 10:00am on Saturday, March 22nd. We will hunt around the library's ground floor for eggs! Please note, children must be accompanied by an adult. ANNOUNCEMENT: We had about 40 kids attend on Saturday morning, in spite of the snow! Fun was had by all even though we quickly ran out of eggs. Happy Spring and Happy Easter!

Make a Wild Woman Pin!

Join us for a brown bag lunch, noon-1:00pm, on Monday, March 17, 2008. We will meet in the Library Lecture Room (main floor) to create pins with wire and beads--supplies and instruction provided free of charge. Everyone is welcome! Lunch Learn & Laugh


Bring your brown bag lunch and share an inspiring interlude with Don Rowe, Professor of Art at Olivet College. Don will talk about his artwork and his personal perception of being an artist. HAPPY HOBBY!


Here is the new group on campus that you have been waiting for! Happy Hobby meets on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at 4:30pm in the Library Lecture Room (main floor). We focus on nifty arts and crafts at any skill level and at no charge--everyone is welcome. We will create a tote bag with playing cards and clear duct tape.
