2008 Sandburg-Auden-Stein Poet-in-Residence


Join Olivet College's 2008 Poet-in-Residence, Carol V. Davis, for various speaking events in the Library Lecture Room (main floor). Ms. Davis will offer at poetry reading on May 6th at 7:30pm and on May 13th at 3:00pm. Ms. Davis will also speak about "Russia from the Inside: an American Perspective" on May 15th at 3:00pm. Monday-Thursday 8am-9pm
Friday 8am-4pm
Saturday 11am-4pm
Sunday 4-9pm
Saturday, May 17th we will be open 10am-1pm. Sunday, May 18th we are CLOSED.
NOTE: Summer session hours of operation begin on May 19th.

Guest Speaker & Brown Bag Lunch


Welcome human rights advocate, Tanja Markus, to the Lecture Room (main floor) on Thursday, April 24th, 12:30-1:30pm. Markus is a team member of SIPAZ (International Service for Peace) in Chiapas, Mexico. Everyone is welcome and participants are encouraged to bring a sack lunch--there is no fee for attendance. Kids Crafts Saturday on the 19th





Celebrate Earth Day (April 22nd) by making recycled crafts on Saturday morning, 10am-noon. Recycle your old shoe or boot by turning it into a springtime planter! We will also make pendants for unique necklaces with stones, wire, shells and string. Join us for the fun---supplies and instruction supplied free. Everyone is welcome!

Reflections on China

Join us at 2:00pm on May 8th for highlights of a sixteen-day tour through China. Olivet College professor, Joel Epstein, will share insights gleaned from his trip late last summer. He will provide an informal talk on this intriguing and fascinating country with a rich and varied history. We will get together in the Library Lecture Room (main floor). Book Group at the Women's Resource Center

Join us on Wednesday, May 7th at 3:00pm in the Betsy Dole Women's Resource Center, Upton Conservatory building. We will discuss the 1998 novel, The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. Join us to kick off a new weekly event at the Library! What is it? It's Commuknitty! We are hosting weekly brown bag lunches in the Insurance Room (ground floor) every Thursday, noon-1:00pm. Take time out to eat lunch and work on your knitted or crocheted projects in a friendly environment. Beginning April 10th we will meet in the Library's Insurance Room. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge for participating.
